#Why does WhatsApp suit a gym or studio?
Your members already use it. Enquiries arrive from Instagram and Google ads, from the board outside, and from friends. Most want the same few things: price, timings, a trial. Then they disappear if nobody answers fast.
I see this at my own studio, a personal-training studio in Hyderabad. The slow part is rarely the sale. It is the reply while the front desk is busy on the floor, and the follow-up days later that nobody remembers to send.
A shared inbox fixes who answers. Chirpoo lets you assign a chat to the front desk or a coach, leave an internal note, snooze a chat until tomorrow and see the WhatsApp reply window on each one. Push alerts reach the phone once Chirpoo is installed on it. On iPhone, add it to the Home Screen first.
#How does Chirpoo handle trial bookings from ads?
Run a click-to-WhatsApp ad, and the person lands in your inbox instead of a form. Chirpoo saves the ad's headline and link on the contact, so you see which ad brought each enquiry. Read click-to-WhatsApp ad attribution for the detail.
A simple no-code flow can start on that ad click:
- Greet the person by name and list this week's trial slots in one message.
- Tag the contact as
trial-enquiry. - Assign the chat to the coach on duty, who confirms the slot when the person replies.
Test it first. Chirpoo flows have a test run and a shadow mode, so the flow does not talk to customers until you are happy. Meta also treats ad-started chats favourably on cost: its pricing page describes a free entry point window of up to 7 days for messages that follow an ad click, with conditions. Read the 24-hour window explained for the rules.
#What does a good reminder or renewal look like?
Reminders about a booking or a payment are utility messages in Meta's terms: they relate to something the member already did. Meta prices categories separately, and says so on its pricing page:
Meta charges by category–market, and only for messages from businesses to users.
Use utility templates for the session reminder the evening before, the "your membership ends on Friday" note, and the payment received confirmation. Keep marketing words out of them. Meta can re-categorise a template, and a marketing message costs more than a utility one. See utility vs marketing template cost.
Meta bills these charges to you directly. Chirpoo adds nothing per message. Chirpoo can draft a template from a one-line description, written to Meta's rules, and Meta's review can take up to 24 hours, so submit renewal templates a day ahead.
#When should the AI agent answer class-timing questions?
For the repeat questions. Switch on Chirpoo's AI agent after you have given it your timings, fees page and trial rules. It answers in your tone, and hands the chat to a person when it should. It never sends offers, and it is off until you switch it on.
Good jobs for it: batch timings, the address and parking, what to bring on day one, whether a trial is free. Bad jobs: fee discounts, freezing a membership, injury advice. Send those to a human by rule. Try your last twenty real questions in its test console before members see it. The full rule set is in AI agent rules for WhatsApp.
#How do you send offers without annoying members?
Use broadcasts, and only to people who opted in. Chirpoo tracks marketing consent per contact, and STOP, "band karo" or Meta's own opt-out ends marketing sends to that person. You pick contacts by tag, such as lapsed-3-months or trial-no-join, and can schedule the send. If someone did not read it, Chirpoo can follow up automatically.
Keep offers rare and specific: one message for a festival batch, one for a referral month. Tag people as they join so the next list is easy to build. Read WhatsApp contact tags and segments and the broadcast guide.
The Chirpoo plan is ₹999 a month, excluding 18% GST, with one number and five logins. A front desk, three coaches and the owner fit inside it. The 14-day trial has every feature and needs no card. For the wider picture, see the WhatsApp automation guide.

Frequently asked questions about Chirpoo and this topic
Can a gym use WhatsApp for membership renewal reminders?
Yes. A renewal reminder is a utility message tied to a membership the person already has, sent as an approved template. Keep offers out of it. Chirpoo drafts the template to Meta's rules, and Meta's review can take up to 24 hours.
Can the AI agent book trials by itself?
Use a flow plus a person for bookings: the flow lists the slots, tags and assigns the chat, and the coach confirms. The AI agent suits questions about timings, location and what to bring. It hands over to your team on anything else.
How many staff logins does a gym get?
Chirpoo includes five team logins and one WhatsApp number in the ₹999 plan, excluding 18% GST. An extra login or number is ₹250 a month each, so a second branch number is an easy add.
Do I have to message members who opted out?
No, and you should not. If a member sends STOP or "band karo", or uses Meta's own opt-out, Chirpoo ends marketing sends to them. They can still message you, and you can answer inside the 24-hour window.
